Job Title Definition:
Agricultural Operations Specialists leads and supports the operational aspects of the land grant mission of agricultural research, teaching and service; special operations include University farms, fields, forests, animal facilities, laboratories and auxiliary enterprises associated with our mission. Duties are performed at various levels within the defined title. 
Working Conditions:
Specific physical requirements and effort are outlined in Job Responsibilities Worksheet (list of essential job duties and responsibilities specific to a particular job at the unit level) in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA).
Other Requirements:
Regulatory certifications such as pesticide applicator’s license, hazardous materials endorsements, commercial driver’s license, etc. may be required.

  • Assist students in the laboratories, greenhouse, farms, forests, pastures or animal units
  • Collect, record and maintain records
  • Assist with special projects as needed
  • Provide customer service to faculty, staff and students and the general public

  • Coordinate the application of treatments on agricultural lands, forests, or greenhouses
  • Assist in land, equipment, animal or laboratory facility planning and utilization
  • Serve as primary contact for unit with internal and external audiences
  • Assist faculty in the design and implementation of agricultural research projects
  • Provide agricultural instruction and demonstration for students and others
  • Supervise crops, planting, feeding, watering or general animal care
