This category also encompasses operations positions involved with the presentation, management, and/or interpretation of permanent collections and/or exhibitions of objects in museums, galleries, or other venues; and positions involved with design fabrication or the presentation and/or production of the performing arts.
Job Title Definition:
The Arts Production Specialist provides professional production services in one or more of the following areas: lighting, sound, and/or multimedia projections; shop operations (scene, costume, art, or architecture); front and back of house management and/or events and operations; and keyboard technology. Duties are performed at various levels within the defined title.

  • Ensure compliance with building-related laws and regulations, health, safety, and fire codes
  • Ensure safe operation of limited variety of machinery, equipment, and/or devices
  • Assist in the coordination of projects in accordance with proper theatrical stage and/or arts venue requirements
  • Assist in the creation/construction of designs, facilities/sets, and/or visual/performing arts products or the maintenance of keyboards
  • Assist in the preparation of specifications, layouts, requisitions, and/or bid invitations
  • Assist in inspections to verify project requirements
  • Maintain deadlines for events of limited variety and complexity; coordinate with others to ensure that work is completed in a timely manner
