Job Title Definition:
The Assistant Coach assists the Head Coach with management of the program with emphasis on, but not limited to, the following: assists with all aspects of the recruiting process; helps mentor student-athletes to foster athletic, academic, emotional and social growth; assists in gathering, preparing and presenting scouting materials; assists with film exchange; assists in practice planning and skill development; assists with team travel; assists with purchasing/inventory of equipment; assists in organization of sport camps; coordinates visiting team requests; coordinates with athletic department personnel and other University units; compiles and maintains statistical information; supervises student managers and other ancillary personnel; professional development; coordinates team community service; represents Head Coach at intercollegiate athletics, alumni, and University events when required; performs requested responsibilities with booster club; assists with fund raising; available for media requests; and performs other duties as assigned by the Head Coach; adheres to all University, conference and NCAA rules and regulations while promoting the core values and strategic goals of intercollegiate athletics. Duties are performed at various levels within the defined title.
