COVID-19 Testing & Screening

CVS Health now offers drive-thru COVID-19 testing at various locations throughout Pennsylvania. For a complete list of nationwide testing sites, please refer to the Department of Health and Human Services Testing Website. Be sure to have a prescription for a COVID-19 test before visiting a testing site.

Nittany Mall

The State Department of Health announced that a pop-up drive thru testing site will be available at the Nittany Mall. The drive-thru-site will be able to accommodate 500 people per day. Insurance is not necessary to receive a test and results are expected in 24 to 48 hrs. Tests will be conducted on a first come first-served basis on Sept 25,26, 29, 30, Oct. 1, 2, 3. No appointment is necessary, but a photo-ID or insurance card is required. Registration will also be completed on-site.

Penn State Health: Free Virtual Screenings for COVID-19

Penn State Health announced it is now offering free virtual screenings for COVID-19 through its telehealth service, Penn State Health OnDemand. Anyone with concerns that they may have COVID-19 may use Penn State Health OnDemand to interact directly with a provider who can evaluate their symptoms and make care recommendations.

To access this service, people can download the free Penn State Health OnDemand Virtual Visits app, available for both iOS and Android, or on their computer. Users can enroll by creating a free login and completing a personal profile. To connect with a provider for a free COVID-19 screening visit, users should select “Coronavirus Screen.” The screening visit is available for patients of any age.

Penn State Health OnDemand also offers urgent care services for common illnesses. For this service, normal fees and co-pays apply.

Aetna: Offering Teladoc

Teladoc is a service provided by Aetna that is accessible from your home and affordable. Teladoc allows you to speak to a licensed doctor by phone or video in minutes. Doctors will diagnose, treat, and prescribe medication (if medically necessary) for a wide range of conditions; cold and flu, sinusitis, sore throat, bronchitis, skin infection and rash, allergies, pink eye, upper respiratory infections, and sprains and strains.

The mobile app is the most convenient way to access Teladoc and feel better. Found on both the App Store and Google Play.
