Security Improvement with HealthEquity
On Monday, June 18, 2018, HealthEquity, Penn State’s provider for Health Savings & Flexible Spending Accounts, will be introducing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for all online access. MFA is a process by which members are asked a series of security questions based on data that would be difficult for someone other than the member to obtain. As a member of HealthEquity, you will be required to complete the MFA when you log into the HealthEquity portal (as a returning or first-time user) and each time you use a new computer or device to access the portal.
This additional level of security helps if a fraudster attempts to login to a member’s account using stolen credentials from an unrecognized computer or device.
The security questions will be used in the event you forget your password, get locked out of your account or your email isn’t recognized.
