Job Title Definition:
The Coordinator of Strength Training evaluates, plans, implements, and markets the strength training and conditioning programs for intercollegiate athletics, team and club sports, and the University community; the Coordinator of Strength Training develops, in conjunction with risk management, and enforces safety and risk management policies for the varsity athletic weight rooms and recreational fitness centers, schedules, maintains, purchases, and services equipment and supplies; schedules, trains, and manages staff including, but not limited to fixed-term, work-study, wage payroll, and students; develops and adheres to budgets for salaries, equipment, and continuing education; serves as an educational resource for classes, correspondence and at camps and clinics; assists in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes; acquires and maintains relevant professional certifications; follows NCAA and conference policies. Duties are performed at various levels within the defined title.

  • Adhere to existing University and appropriate external regulatory agency safety policies and procedures; activate Emergency Action Plan as appropriate; complete appropriate paperwork including but not limited to incident or injury reports for departmental accountability; ensure safe and appropriate use of facilities and/or equipment; maintain a clean and safe environment for staff and participants
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and supervising assigned part-time and student staff; assist in scheduling workforce and assigning work as appropriate; calculate, process and/or submit payroll hours for approval and maintain payroll records
