Working Outside of Pennsylvania
Employees should discuss any request to work remotely with their supervisor, and the plan must be approved and documented via the flexible work arrangements request process in Workday. Instructions on entering a flexible work arrangement into Workday are available in the WorkLion Knowledge Base.
Penn State may permit remote work outside of Pennsylvania in limited circumstances. However, approval of remote and hybrid work is not guaranteed. Different factors are considered when evaluating such requests, including, but not limited to, employee type, the duties of the position and the University's ability to accommodate the request. Please note that Penn State will not consider remote work from the states listed below, and requests to work from US territories and countries other than the United States as a matter of employee preference will not be considered. Any changes to an employee’s work location must have prior approval.
