When are jobs posted on the Technical Services Job Vacancies site?

Vacancies will be posted on Tuesdays and Thursdays and will remain open for 7 calendar days.

How will I know when new vacancies are posted?

You can log onto the Technical Services Job Vacancies site 24 hours a day and 7 days a week to search for new jobs. You can also sign-up to receive job search notifications that will be sent to your Penn State email account.

How do I sign up for the job search notifications?

To sign up to receive the new job search notifications, log onto the Technical Services Job Vacancies site. Go to the "My Account" tab. Click on the blue "Manage Job Search Notifications" button. Select the campus location(s) and grade(s) you are interested in. Then click "Notify Me When Jobs Match This Criteria" at the bottom of the screen to save the search. An e-mail notification will be sent to your Penn State e-mail account the day the vacancies are posted.

How can I view the job filled report?

To view the job filled report, click on the "Jobs" tab. Then click on the blue "Job Filled Report" button. The jobs filled report is updated weekly and includes each job filled within the preceding week and any jobs that were withdrawn within the preceding week. It will also include a list of pending jobs that have bidders, but for which no final selection has been made and for which the closing date of the announcement is at least two weeks prior the date of the published list.

Personal Data Sheets

How do I update my personal data sheet?

You can update your personal data sheet by clicking on the "My Account" tab. Then click on "Update Personal Data Sheet" on the blue tab.

I've made some changes to my personal data sheet. How do I know what information was viewed by the hiring area?

If you would like to know what information was included on your personal data sheet when it was viewed, go to "View Bidding History" under the "My Account" tab. If your materials have been viewed, you will see "Yes" and the date that they were viewed under the "Materials Viewed" tab. To view your personal data sheet, click on "Yes" and you will see what was included when it was viewed by the hiring department.

How do I get a copy of my personal data sheet?

You can print a copy of your personal data sheet from the Technical Service Job Vacancies site. From the "My Account" tab, click on the blue "Update Personal Data Sheet" button, and then "Print Personal Data Sheet" in the upper right-hand corner.

Can I make changes to my personal data sheet after I have already bid on a job?

Yes, after you bid, you can make changes to your personal data sheet the same way you normally would.  As long as your personal data sheet has not been viewed by the hiring area, any changes that are made will be reflected immediately. If your personal data sheet has already been viewed by the hiring area for a vacancy your information will not be updated for that particular vacancy. Therefore, it is important to have your personal data sheet up-to-date when you bid.

How do I find out the status of a vacancy I have bid on?
