Job Title Definition:
The Engineering Designer develops mechanical, electrical, or computer numerical controlled (CNC) designs, documentation, or programs to support the projects and/or mission of the assigned work unit; creates models, drawings, schematics, and assemblies using the appropriate Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) tools; prepares bills of material, and/or other forms of documentation including computer output files used in the manufacturing process of creating the final product, prepares clear and complete documentation for use by engineers, manufacturers, and others while conforming to accepted standards and practices; coordinates work with appropriate personnel including Research and Development Engineers, engineering aides, and manufacturing employees to ensure that the solutions developed meet the needs of the respective project. Duties are performed at various levels within the defined title.
