Job Title Definition:
The Facilities Contract Administration Specialist provides overall coordination of the procurement of construction contracts and assists the contractor community; functions may include the following: assists with the development and review of the front end bidding documents; schedules and conducts contract bid openings; prequalifies contractors for bidding purposes and maintains database; prepares and processes construction contracts; provides support of development and review of professional agreements; processes change orders and contractor payment applications and checks for compliance; provides support for contract claims; provides overall coordination of the contractor prequalification process; interprets construction contract and professional agreement terms and conditions; serves as a liaison with the Bureau of Labor Law Compliance of the Department of Labor and Industry, Department of General Services, and other Agencies; develops and coordinates a Minority Business Enterprise and Women Business Enterprise (MBE/WBE) Program; educates contractors on University and agency MBE/WBE requirements to ensure established goals are met; leads outreach initiatives with the construction community in order to maintain relationships with and solicit feedback from contractors, suppliers, and vendors; administer the contractor evaluation process; reviews policies and documents to ensure consistency with evolving industry standards and practices. Duties are performed at various levels within the defined title.
