Annual Performance Management Process Opens for University Staff
For University staff employees, now is the time to begin setting goals for the 2019-20 performance management cycle. The first step of the cycle, Setting Goals and Expectations, should be completed by Saturday, August 31.
Penn State’s annual performance management cycle consists of three primary steps:
1. Setting goals and expectations
2. Mid-year check-in
3. End-of-year review
During the first step, staff members should meet with their supervisors to review and update their Job Responsibilities Worksheets (JRW) in the JRW system, and discuss expectations and goals for the year.
Penn State Human Resources and the WorkLion Management Office (WMO) have provided the following trainings and resources to help staff update their JRW’s and set goals for 2019-20:
- How to update your JRW
- Setting Goals and Expectations – Individual Contributors
- Setting Goals and Expectation – Managers
- Entering your goals into Workday
Staff and supervisors with questions regarding performance management should HR Services by calling 814-865-1473 or submitting an inquiry in WorkLion.
