Job Title Definition:
The Human Resources Manager provides leadership of Human Resources programs including compensation, benefits, employee relations, training, development, employment, affirmative action, employee wellness, and retention of employees; partnering with unit /University management to achieve strategic goals; and serving as a consultant for management and as a resource for employees; leads the development of proactive and customer service-oriented programs and services; provides advise/counsel to senior management; and supervises, mentors, and directs Human Resources staff in development and implementation of programs and services that meet the needs of the unit/University; manages budget; oversees activities of department; provides input to strategic plans; and leads the review, development, and modification of processes, procedures, and programs that are in compliance with federal, state, local, and University requirements. Duties are performed at various levels within the defined title.
