Job Title Definition:
The Instructional Production Specialist (IPS) provides administrative, technical, and production support to instructional designers, faculty, educational technologists, etc.; duties may include (but are not limited to) updating and maintaining information in internal administrative systems; updating and maintaining Web pages; assisting in the production of on-line courses in the Learning Management System(s); working collaboratively in various work teams; accurately processing many details in a highly organized and efficient manner. Duties are performed at various levels within the defined job category.

Typical Work Duties
  • Assist with administrative tasks associated with course implementation
  • Assist as directed with new online course development, revisions, and repeat courses
  • Provide assistance in setting up exams and exam-related materials
  • Assist with the administrative aspects of materials-related tasks, including the setup of electronic reserves, etc. and resolve all materials issues as they arise (in coordination with personnel as appropriate - e.g., library personnel, MBS liaisons.)
  • Proactively coordinate the submission of courses for QA review and implement any suggested changes in coordination with program/project coordinator
  • Practice good time management skills in working on multiple projects
  • Quickly learn and adapt to changing work environment
  • Communicate effectively with assigned program/project coordinator as well as other colleagues
