The Inventory Control and Distribution Manager manages warehouse operations, inventory functions, the shipping and receiving of goods, ordering inventory items, and/or overseeing a retail operation; communicates with customers, vendors, and other University departments to provide information and solve problems; uses a variety of electronic systems to prepare and complete transactions, manage inventories, update product information, maintain web pages, and record sales; prepares financial reports and participates in the financial success of the unit; monitors vendor performance and seeks out new distributors; maintains a safe working environment for employees and customers. Duties are performed at various levels within the defined title.

  • Prepare various financial reports used in preparation of the University’s audited financial statements
  • Prepare for and respond to concerns involving staff, students, visitors and guests
  • Oversee and coordinate physical inventories and ensure items are properly accounted for
  • Complete appropriate paperwork related to handling inventories
  • May coordinate activities with government agencies and assure compliance with regulations and manage special programs
  • May initiate work orders
  • May analyze and research lease purchases for capitalization
  • Hire, train, coach, supervise, schedule, evaluate, and discipline assigned employees
