Job Title Definition:
The Facilities Designer provides support for and participates in the planning, documentation and design processes for physical development at the University including site development, building planning and design of new and renovated facilities in all University locations; leads and/or participates in the development of in-house architectural and engineering designs for projects of varying scope; reviews architectural and engineering designs and construction documents prepared by outside consultants; assists in the formulation and enforcement of design standards, leads and/or participates in feasibility studies for future projects; performs construction administration duties; leads and/or assists in the preparation of graphic presentations; coordinates zoning, building permitting, and other issues of common interest with community representatives; works under the direct supervision of staff architects, engineers or others associated with facility management. Duties are performed at various levels within the defined title.
