Transportation Managers oversee, or assist in, the overall management of transportation services units; supervise assigned staff that may include full time, part time, student, and temporary employees; recommend and/or implement policy and procedural changes; respond to questions about services and/or facilities, from students, parents, internal and external customers; participate in the financial success of the operation; provide a safe and secure environment for employees, students and customers; work with various University departments and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal government agencies; maintain inventories and purchase equipment and supplies. Duties are performed at various levels within the defined title.

Typical Work Duties
  • Hire, train, coach, supervise, schedule, evaluate, and discipline assigned employees; may approve payroll
  • Oversee maintenance of the parking facilities and lots and care of equipment
