2022 Benefits

Some important things to note for Benefits Open Enrollment 2022:

  • Those in the PPO Plan – If General Salary Increase (GSI) or other salary adjustments occurred this year, the “deductible tier” for your medical plan may now be different. Employees whose deductible tier will change for 2022, MUST make an election during Benefits Open Enrollment, or you will default to NO coverage.
  • Those in the PPO Savings Plan – If it is your intention to stay in the same plan for 2022, you MUST complete Benefits Open Enrollment to “enroll” in the Health Savings Account (HSA) for 2022 in order to appropriately receive the Penn State seed money.
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Rollover - If you wish to utilize the unlimited rollover feature that the IRS is allowing for 2021 and 2022, you MUST elect the FSA during Benefits Open Enrollment.
  • Employees RETIRING on 12/31/2021 should NOT complete Benefits Open Enrollment. Enrolling as a retiree in the medical plan is a separate process. Please join a Thinking About Retiring webinar to learn more details.
  • Workday Mobile App will be functional for Benefits Open Enrollment 2022. If you experience any problems completing Benefits Open Enrollment on your mobile device, please login to a computer and web browser instead.
