The Education Program Specialist identifies, develops, delivers, manages and evaluates educational programs; provides leadership, consultation, program coordination, technical assistance and related services in the field of education/training; functions as expert in an area of specialization, develops and maintains relationships with academic units, organizations, industry and agencies to determine programming needs; and contributes to marketing and financial activities in support of the program.  


  • Identify, develop, coordinate, deliver, and evaluate a wide variety of educational programs and related materials 
  • Research potential opportunities, qualify prospective clients, and collaborate in the determination of programming needs 
  • Contribute to the design and development of various program evaluation tools to continually assess content and outcomes  
  • Participate in the planning and coordination of marketing for educational programs and services 
  • Serve as unit liaison; may represent department or unit in meetings for community outreach and networking purposes 
  • Develop and monitor program budgets 
  • Customize program content for individual participants, as needed 
  • Review and ensure compliance for all programs as required 
  • May develop proposals and negotiate contracts 
  • May identify funding sources and assist in application and administration of grants 
  • May supervise staff
