Athletic Facilities and Equipment Worker - Part Time

JOB TITLE DEFINITION:
Maintain athletic facilities and equipment including those associated with gyms, courts, pools, rinks, and fields; prepare facilities and equipment for classroom activity and athletic events.
SAMPLE WORK ACTIVITIES:
- Mow grass and line play areas; set up nets and windscreens; replace burned out lights, etc.
- Clean pool, deck bottom, and equipment; maintain pool chemical balance, water and air temperature; perform backwash and clean filtration equipment
- Resurface, paint, mark, trim, and edge ice; adjust, align, replace, and make minor repairs to dasher board and rink shielding; operate and maintain ice resurfacing equipment
- Prepare facilities and equipment for classes and athletic events; set up press area, mats, netting, baskets, lane markers, pool dividers, platforms, chairs, bleachers, banners, electronic timers, and scoreboards; sharpen skates; line fields; restring racquets; fill underwater breathing apparatuses
- Make minor repairs and regular preventive maintenance to equipment and facilities. Report major repair or other issues to supervisor
- Maintain facilities in a clean and orderly condition; clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, floors, stairwells, and equipment; dust/polish furniture and fixtures; properly store equipment and supplies; remove snow and ice; spread anti-skid materials
- Launder, store, assign, issue, and or exchange towels, uniforms, equipment, lockers, baskets, etc.; conduct inventory and maintain logs as directed
- Operate power tools such as circular saw, drills, screwdrivers, chisels, files, wrenches, etc.; may operate cash register, powered floor equipment, skid loader or front-end loader
- Assist in securing facilities, controlled and storage areas; report accidents, major repairs, security/safety concerns; contact emergency medical personnel and conduct first aid as needed
REQUIREMENTS: May require Pennsylvania Public Pesticide Applicator (Category 6, 7, and or 24)
