JOB TITLE DEFINITION:  

The Development Specialist supports giving fundraising efforts for alumni, students, families and friends across the Penn State system including annual receipt and participation goals; provides professional guidance and support for mail, phone and email solicitations to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward constituencies’ support on an annual basis; may develop and implement strategies targeted at acquisition, retention and reactivation of donors. 

SAMPLE WORK ACTIVITIES:  

• Support selected fundraising activities, including direct mail, telemarketing, e-communications, and event planning 
• Assist in the identification, solicitation, cultivation, and stewardship of prospects and donors 
• Input and extract data from various systems 
• Provide assistance in the planning and implementation of fundraising initiatives, strategies and programs  
• Participate in the development and production of internal and external materials, proposals, and reports
