JOB TITLE DEFINITION:  

The Part-Time Coach (Out of Season / Recruiting) is responsible for the organization and administration of all or select phases of a comprehensive sports program or camp, including recruitment of qualified prospective student-athletes, program development, program administrative operations, and team fundraising.

SAMPLE WORK ACTIVITIES:  

• Coordinate and or/ direct the recruitment and retention of prospective student athletes in a particular region or specialty area including prospect evaluation, prospect selection, off campus evaluation, on and off campus visits, and contacts
• Design and plan coaching strategies, practice plans and skill development activities
• Maintain or manage the program’s operational budget
• Coordinate the organization and planning for home events, visiting team requests, and team travel
• Collaborate with marketing and communications staff to promote the team
• Monitor the purchasing, inventory, care, and storage of equipment
• Represent the program at intercollegiate athletics, alumni, and University events
• May supervise assistant coaches, student managers, volunteer coaches, undergraduate coaches, and other ancillary personnel
