Driver (CDL) - Part Time

JOB TITLE DEFINITION:   

Drive a shuttle, trolley, bus, truck, or tractor-trailer combination with a capacity of at least 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW). Load/unload truck and perform warehousing duties.  

SAMPLE WORK ACTIVITIES:  

• Drive shuttle service vehicles, such as buses, vans, shuttles, handicap service vehicles, etc., on established routes and schedules, and special assignments, to transport passengers within campus and surrounding areas. Stop at posted stops to allow passengers to enter and/or exit in a safe and efficient manner 
• Check all passengers upon entering vehicle for required pass, as assigned. Provide information such as campus directions, building locations, etc., as requested 
• Drive truck to pick-up and deliver supplies and equipment to Commonwealth Campus or University Park locations according to schedule. Assist with unloading and obtain signature of receiving agent when goods are unloaded 
• Drive truck to pick-up and deliver supplies and equipment to Commonwealth Campus or University Park locations according to schedule. Assist with unloading and obtain signature of receiving agent when goods are unloaded 
• Load and unload supplies, equipment, etc. onto or from truck; verify each item against requisition to ensure accuracy 
• Check vehicles for fuel, lubrication, water, antifreeze, etc. Check condition of tires and general operation of vehicles as to engine, headlights, turn signals, emergency and stop flashing lights, doors, windshield wipers, horn, etc. Report malfunctions and/or needed repairs and servicing to Supervisor 
• Record gas, oil, and operations information daily 
• Plow snow and chop ice. Spread anti-skid materials on roads, parking lots, and sidewalks 

REQUIREMENTS: Pennsylvania Commercial Driver’s License, applicable endorsements, and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check.
