JOB TITLE DEFINITION:
Student/Academic Services Support positions assist in the coordination, delivery, and evaluation of programs and services designed to support student success and engagement within the University. Responsibilities include facilitating student integration into the academic and campus environment, supporting co-curricular and developmental initiatives, providing guidance to students and student organizations, and assisting with outreach, communications, and program promotion. Incumbents may contribute to training sessions, workshops, and presentations that enhance student development and engagement.
Note: Positions primarily responsible for supporting the admissions process should be classified as Part-Time Admissions Support.
SAMPLE WORK ACTIVITIES:
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing student-focused programs and services (e.g., orientation, leadership development, student activities, residence life initiatives)
- Develop and deliver workshops, training sessions, and informational presentations for prospective and current students
- Support new student orientation by providing information on campus resources, services, and engagement opportunities
- Facilitate small group discussions and activities that promote student transition, involvement, and success
- Provide campus tours and share information with prospective students and families regarding university programs, resources, and student life
- Offer general guidance to students in individual or group settings on topics such as academic success strategies, career exploration, and engagement opportunities
- Promote student involvement by communicating the value of campus engagement and connecting students to relevant programs and resources
- Assist in developing and distributing marketing and communication materials to support program awareness and participation
- Collaborate with campus partners and offices to support student services and initiatives
- Provide support for specialized programming, including global initiatives and services for international students, as assigned
- Participate in committees or workgroups related to student success and retention
- Assist with program assessment activities, including data collection, evaluation, and reporting
