Coach - Part Time

The Part-Time Coach is responsible for the organization and administration of all or select phases of a comprehensive sports program or camp, including practice and game preparation, recruitment of qualified student-athletes, program development,  scheduling, academic monitoring, game day duties, program administrative operations, and team fundraising under the direction of either the Head Coach or Athletic Director.  


  • Coordinate and or/ direct the recruitment and retention of prospective student athletes in a particular region or specialty area including prospect evaluation, prospect selection, off campus evaluation, on and off campus visits, and contacts 
  • Assist and/or oversee the planning, organization, execution, and staffing of sport camps 
  • Design and coordinate coaching strategies, practice plans and skill development activities; develop game day strategies 
  • Establish competitive schedule 
  • Maintain or manage the program’s operational budget  
  • Mentor student athletes to foster athletic, academic, emotional, and social growth; establish and enforce the rules of conduct and team policies 
  • Coordinate the organization and planning for home events, visiting team requests, and team travel 
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications staff to promote the team  
  • Monitor the purchasing, inventory, care, and storage of equipment 
  • Represent the program at intercollegiate athletics, alumni, and University events 
  • May supervise assistant coaches, student managers, volunteer coaches, undergraduate coaches, and other ancillary personnel
