UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — For full-time Penn State staff employees, the final step of the 2022-23 performance review cycle, the end-of-year review, begins Monday, Feb. 13, and must be completed by Friday, March 31.

"Participants in the performance review process will see a new look and feel this year," said Christy Helms, senior director of talent management for Penn State Human Resources. The template in Workday has been streamlined and is now easier to navigate. Additionally, the Penn State Values and Diversity competency are part of the newly titled Core Principles section. While Workday allows us to administer the program, the most important part of this process are the conversations that take place between the employee and manager. We hope everyone will make time to connect, reflect on accomplishments, and discuss goals and objectives for the coming year."

During this last phase, and to help employees plan their time, the Talent Management team has put together a suggested timeline that lists each step in the process, due dates, and required employee and manager actions. Additionally, there are a variety of training, video and article resources available to support this activity:

As a reminder, the current review cycle includes activities from April 1, 2022, through March 31, 2023.

Full-time staff employees and managers are welcome to contact HR Services with questions regarding this year’s performance review cycle by calling 814-865-1473 or by submitting an inquiry via WorkLion.
