Types of Flexible Work
Types of flexible work available to staff members in units, colleges and campuses across the University may vary. Employees should speak with their manager if they have questions about the types of flexible work arrangements available in their area.
Examples of flexible work arrangements include:
- A hybrid work schedule – a combination of time spent working remotely and in a University-controlled office
- 100% remote work
- Alternative schedules or shifts
- Staggered start and end times
- Mid-day flex time – for example, work 8-12; break 12-2; work 2-6:00
- Core hours schedule – employees are present during specified core hours but may adjust arrival and departure times each day in a way that still meets a set number of weekly work hours
- Reduced full-time equivalent schedule – see HR105 policy
- Voluntary phased retirement – see HR29 policy
