Campus Employee Resources
Please continue to return to this page over time to find up-to-date information – including free wellness, financial and career resources -- for employees who currently work at one of the seven Penn State campuses selected for closure following the spring 2027 semester.
Remaining at Penn State
Employees at Commonwealth Campuses may look to continue their Penn State career at another campus location. Employees whose campuses have been selected for closure following the spring semester in 2027 will be given priority consideration for job opportunities at other University locations.
PowerPoint slides are available describing the Commonwealth Campus staff hiring priority consideration process and the Commonwealth Campus non-tenure-line faculty hiring process.
Employees can create a job alert within Workday to let them know new job postings are available matching their criteria. Job alerts can be customized to desired job profiles, locations, remote versus in-person work, and full- and part-time roles.
Once an employee selects a job posting of interest, they can apply internally through Workday.
Information about the priority hiring consideration processes
Voluntary transfer process for pre-tenure and tenured faculty at closing campuses
Effective October 2025, pre-tenure and tenured faculty will be given the first opportunity to view and express interest in tenure-line vacancies at Penn State’s continuing campuses and colleges for the 2025–2026 hiring cycle.
This voluntary transfer process is intended to demonstrate the University’s continued commitment to support tenure-line faculty at closing campuses through a fair, transparent, and equitable transfer process. It prioritizes eligible faculty while ensuring that unit-level needs and institutional priorities are met through a matching program.
- Only pre-tenure and tenured faculty at closing campuses are eligible to participate in this voluntary transfer process, and those who do not participate or who are not selected for a transfer opportunity will be reassigned to a new location by the end of the 2026-2027 academic year through a separate reassignment process, details of which will be communicated at a later date.
- All eligible pre-tenure and tenured faculty have been sent detailed information along with access to the site developed specifically for them and this process.
