Mission

Our mission is to foster an inclusive and supportive workplace environment for LGBTQ+ employees and allies, driving positive change and equity within our organization.
 

Vision

We envision a workplace where LGBTQ+ employees are empowered to bring their authentic selves to work, where diversity is celebrated, and where everyone feels valued and respected regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression.
 

Core Values

  • Inclusivity: We are committed to creating a workplace that welcomes and embraces individuals of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions. Creating an inclusive and accepting workplace where LGBTQ+ employees can be themselves is essential for their wellbeing and productivity. 
  • Empowerment: We empower LGBTQ+ employees and allies to advocate for equity, visibility, and fair treatment within our organization.
  • Education: We strive to facilitate the collective learning of our members and the broader workforce about LGBTQ+ issues, fostering a culture of understanding and empathy.
  • Support: We provide a safe and confidential space for LGBTQ+ employees to seek guidance, mentorship, and support from their peers.
     

Objectives

  • Promote Awareness: Raise awareness about LGBTQ+ issues, diversity of identities, experiences, and backgrounds within our community and promote a culture of inclusivity and acceptance within our workplace.
  • Assess Employee Needs: Continually monitor and assess the environment for LGBTQ+ employees to proactively identify needs and empower data-driving decision making.
  • Advocate for Change: Advocate for policies and practices that support LGBTQ+ equity and inclusion, at the institution.
  • Provide Resources: Connect LGBTQ+ employees and allies with resources, information, while providing support, including mentorship, networking, and educational opportunities.
  • Celebrate Diversity: Organize events and initiatives that celebrate LGBTQ+ history and the diversity within our community, pride, and achievements to foster a sense of belonging.
  • Collaborate and Allyship: Collaborate with other university ERGs and allies to create a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace for everyone.
