Administrative Professional Series
The Administrative Professional Series (APS) is designed to equip administrative support professionals at the University with the skills, resources, and tools to meet job challenges and support unit priorities. APS is offered as a two-part, certificate program.
Level 1
Topics include: customer service, professional presentation, writing skills, and communication. As well as an interactive skills-based program that includes a self-directed technology learning project based on a technology application of your choice. This program is delivered in the Spring only.
Level 2
Topics include: HR policy, leadership, mindfulness, Penn State Budget and SIMBA overview, WorkLion-Timekeeping, Transportation Services, Safety, ethics, change management, and diversity. To qualify for the level 2 program, you need to have been in an administrative support role at the university for at least 2 years. This program is delivered in the Fall only.
We recommend that individuals participate in the full, two-part series regardless of their experience level.
